The Treemme MM280B is a purpose built machine that can handle the rigorous task of mulching. With a 300hp Duetz engine driving a hydraulic pump with a flow rate of 400l/min and a pressure of 480bar it delivers 240hp to the mulching unit. The size and weight of the Treemme  makes it quite compact for a machine that is only 7m long x 2.5m wide x 3m high and weighs in at just under 12 tons.
With 600mm of ground clearance it makes it easy to straddle large logs and hence cut down on mulching time. The steering system has three different settings from 2 wheel steer , 4 wheel steer and crab crawl. This makes it quite manuverable to work in small areas or for doing selective clearing.
The cooling system for the machine is a combination of three radiators that are cooled by hydraulic reversible fans.  Once the engine reaches a certain temperature the fans can be reversed to blow out all debris that restricts the flow to the radiators. This save an enormous amount of time in that you don’t have to stop to clean them out every couple of hours, hence giving the client value for money.

The mulcher is an AHWI UZM580H built in Germany. This mulching head is a heavy duty version to be able to stand up to Australian conditions. With 54 fixed teeth staggered around the actual drum this gives it a very aggressive cutting pattern. Some of the other features are:  hydraulic push bar to help in the felling of trees , hydraulic flap for achieving a finer finish and also to stop flying debris when working on roadside or parks .
